Once upon a time, Jim Cornette and Chris Jericho were in a van in a Dairy Queen drive-thru...

The title of this post is in reference to Big E's memories of the type of wrestling he enjoyed watching on television when he was younger. The aforementioned style stands in contrast to grueling displays of endurance that require patience from the viewer ("thirty-minute classics") and technical or acrobatic displays of athleticism like "moonsaults". As we can see in 1 Corinthians 3:2, 1 Peter 2:2, and Hebrews 5:12-13, we are intended to grow in our Christian walk toward meatier matters than the milk that first sustains us. A very common mistake in this transition is thinking we can outgrow God's grace. The free gift of salvation that is neither merited nor ever capable of being paid back is not only essential at first, but all the way. I say all this to segue to the next section of blog posts: a commentary on the entire Bible, suitable for personal study, as a source for sermon hooks, etc. While I have tried to be thorough in engaging with the source material, if you find me stuck in the mire of minutiae in the Law of Moses, etc., remember that I'm looking for God's grace at every step (even if I forget sometimes).

Belief in Jesus is essential. The Old Covenant had God on one side and humans on the other, and the humans were doomed to fail. The New Covenant is based on the strength of a promise God made to God. We who are safely in His hand can't mess it up. Jesus prayed that those who believe in Him would be united with Him in John 17:20-26, and Ephesians 2:6 says that He got what He asked for. Our sins demand death, but we have already died with Christ (Galatians 2:20); we enjoy His eternal life in union with Him (Colossians 3:4, 1 Corinthians 6:17).
